Underground Military Base - Albanian soldiers close a gate to the main tunnel of the Gjadar Air Base near the city of Leze on February 5, 2019.

Recently, I took a deep dive into underground or other hidden military bases around the United States. Today, I'm going around the world. Let's take a look at some of the most impressive military bases around the world.

Underground Military Base

Underground Military Base

To begin with, it is clear that this list will not cover everything. There are about 10,000 underground places in the world and we can only guess how many there are

Nuclear Military Plant

The first premise is one you've probably heard of by now because of its recent popularity on the Netflix show Pine Gap. I'll be honest, I had no idea Pine Gap was an actual military base when I watched a few episodes on Netflix. However, this is a foundation that is covered in both security and privacy (and now name recognition) and for those reasons, I like to look at it first.

Pine Gap is a military base in rural Alice Springs, Northern Territory, Australia. Pine Gap is actually a US military base in the middle of nowhere in Australia. Before you say it, I know, I'm technically in the US. Cheating a bit from the start including the center run by, but that seems fine since it's the continental US. is far from Like every populated place. the world

Another way to describe Pine Gap is that it is America's largest intelligence collection site. But the best way to describe Pine Gap is that it's where America's best spies and investigators gather, gather intelligence, and deliver that intelligence to the troops who call it its most powerful. More is needed.

Pine Gap was founded in 1966 and is the US Gathering Intel for the past 55 years. More recently, the intelligence it produces is widely trusted by US Special Forces, the Pentagon, and the president and his military leaders. Pine Gap relies more on SIGINT (signals intelligence) than HUMINT (human intelligence). The only difference between the two is that SIGINT includes intelligence obtained from communications and information systems while HUMINT includes information obtained from our people.

All kinds of intelligence are necessary to create an image of the enemy. To read more about some of the amazing technology used at the facility, click here.

Porton Down was founded in 1916 and is the oldest chemical warfare research center in the world. Set on thousands of acres in a remote part of Wiltshire, Porton Down has no shortage of space and mystery, allowing scientists to conduct various experiments on "free" animals, humans and even aliens. is

Porton Down is similar in its function, legend, and mystery to a famous US military facility: Area 51. Like Area 51, secret scientific experiments take place at Porton Down and there have been many rumors over the years that the agency. Immigrants' homes

One has to wonder if myths like the habitation of aliens, whether dead or alive, are embedded in every culture? Like the legend of Bigfoot, the idea that society has hidden entities (such as aliens) is passed down through the generations. Whether it's alien abductions or cover-ups near "secret military bases" or Bigfoot sightings in nearly every wooded area across the country, we humans love to speculate about something we hope exists.

According to a piece published in the Guardian, another strange and tragic incident occurred at Porton Down during human experiments conducted at the facility. The patron said,

"In May 1953, the death of a young pilot, Ronald Madison, was re-investigated. He died after Porton's scientists dripped liquid nerve gas into his arm in an experiment […] It is possible that Porton had very used nerve gas on all human subjects, over a longer period of time, than any other science in the world."

“From a purely scientific point of view, they have produced a great deal of information about the effect of nerve gas on the human body. This information also helped Porton develop the world's most advanced defenses to protect the British armed forces against chemical attack. Porton believes that human trials have made a 'significant contribution' to this conservation.

This is where we question whether we should really be using living, breathing humans as pigs for testing. Is this different from the Taliban kidnapping someone and using them as a test subject or ballistic dummy for their assassination plans? This is indeed a worthy concern for all of us. Add in all the other human rights issues and you have a very serious problem on your hands.

Kapustin Yar is a Russian rocket development facility located in Astrakhan Oblast, Russia. Kapustin Yar was established in 1946 on the orders of Joseph Stalin and was primarily used for Russian military rocket tests at the time.

Like Porton Down, Kapustin Yar is a secret military testing facility. Every place I've talked about so far has one thing in common: they have a clear, stated mission, and then they have a secret, possibly more sinister, purpose. of course Kapustin dude is no different.

Underground Military Base

While we know Kapustin Yar has been used to test Russian rockets, there are also rumors that Kapustin Yar also lives a secret double life. The existence of the facility is said to have been discovered only after German military aircraft flew close to the site and after German scientists returned from Russia and what they had seen there. However, the real reason for Kapustin Yar's current existence remains murky.

American Underground Military Base Illustration

According to the History Channel, "Kapustin Yar is said to be the place where the Soviet Union's top researchers, scientists and military experts were sent to develop Cold War technology and weapons. In fact, the facility's construction was so secretive that when Soviet forces deemed a nearby town too close for comfort, its inhabitants were driven out of the country and simply evacuated.

The real secret lies beneath the surface of Kapustin Yar, though. According to various witnesses (who were probably later burned at the stake by Stalin for speaking out about it), there is a highly classified underground space beneath the facility. Kapustin Yar, which is used as a Russian UFO research center. This is the reason why this secret agency makes this secret list.

Within this highly restricted facility are the seeds of nearly every known plant that has evolved over the past century. The idea here is that in the event of a widespread nuclear war or a major pandemic, countries around the world will have the opportunity to rebuild their countries. Thus, the center has been nicknamed the "Noah's Ark" of seed storage.

The roof storage area, which is more than 100 meters below the mountain, is divided into countries, and each country has its own seed.

Because the facility is near the North Pole, both permafrost and thick rock ensure that the seed samples will remain frozen regardless of whether there is a power outage at the facility.

Within the repository, there are more than a million types of seeds, from common grains to exotic plant seeds and even viruses that help cure various ailments.

"The seed vault has the capacity to store 4.5 million varieties of crops. Each variety will have about 500 seeds, so about 2.5 billion seeds can be stored in one vault." Currently, the vault contains over 1,000,000 specimens. , from almost every country in the world. From unique African and Asian varieties such as maize, rice, wheat, cowpea and sorghum to European and South American varieties of eggplant, lettuce, barley and potato. In fact, the vault already has the largest stockpile of grain in the world.

Underground Military Base

Although the facility is widely known, its location hundreds of meters underground and its potential impact on US and global health warrants inclusion on our list.

Mysterious, Ice Buried Cold War Military Base May Be Unearthed By Climate Change

Gjadar Air Base is a former communist base built on a barren hill in northern Albania. However, this base was not a remote Albanian military base. Starting in the mid-1970s it was home to many MiGs and other Soviet and Chinese aircraft.

The base is buried in the side of a mountain (similar to Svalbard) and is said to have around 2,000 tunnels within its walls. The facility, now used by the Albanian military, was once a bustling mess of tunnels, planes and battles.

What Does Gat Mean - The Gate air pistol was an air pistol of British origin. The pistol can also fire .177 pellets, ball bearings, darts and corks. Gate pistols are popular at fun fairs and arcade stalls.

The gate was manufactured by TJ Harrington & Co Ltd of Magda Works, Walton-on-Thames, Surrey from the late 1930s to the mid-1990s. There was a hiatus in production during World War II, which soon resumed. Production eventually ended with Mr Harrington's death, increased overseas competition and a decline in public interest in 'dirty bits of machinery'.

Other Harrington products include the 'Ding Dong' slingshot and the 'Little Kraka' fishing reel, both of which use similar die-cast construction.

A cocked gate looks like a fixed circular barrel protruding from the receiver, which is roughly circular in cross section. Wh fired, the inside of the barrel is hidden behind, which is pushed forward by a spring, and so the gath fire looks like a three-section barrel (for example). Cocking is done by pushing this inner part back to the center part. The central 'barrel' was no more than a cover over the operating spring and was not part of the original belly of the quackbush.

This gave rise to the theory that the forward barrel gate was not an air weapon, but merely a spring sling. This is wrong. The piston is a leather seal on the outside of the inner barrel, which moves into a large concentric cylinder inside the receiver. The barrel and piston are moved forward to fire, with air entering the chamber through two small transfer ports drilled in the rear of the barrel beyond the leather seal.

Loading through a screw breech at the rear. The bullet is pushed down the barrel by a long pin in this breech until it passes through the air port. If the breech pin is lost, the pistol cannot be loaded. Depending on the nature of the pistol user, a common alternative is to replace the pin with another screw or other unusual plug. This does not work, in some cases the bullet is fired back from the breech.

The gate is a powerless and inaccurate weapon. A moving barrel during firing did not improve accuracy. Gates was provided with a mixture of dart, pellet and cork ammunition. It was the least inaccurate of all darts that had enough power to give the bullet enough momentum for accuracy. It is this misconception that makes the cork firing gate a favorite among shooting gallery stall owners at travel fairs.

The final version of the Gat Eve featured a plastic fly water that could be fired from the same adapter.

A similar mechanism was used for the German-made Highscore 814 pistol and the Diana Model 2, with better build quality and wooden grips.

The gate is built cheaply and accurately with little effort. Both frame and barrel are die cast. In later years,

Plastic parts appeared on the trigger guard. Being die-cast rather than steel, the pistol was not blued but painted black. A more expo version was available in chrome plate, although these are rare. A ghat (German: Seegat, Seagut or diminutive Gatze) is a strait that is continuously cut by currents that flow back and forth, such as tidal currents. It is usually a relatively narrow but deep, up to 30 m (100 ft) channel between land masses (islands and peninsulas) or between shallow bars in areas of mud flats. A gate is sometimes a small passage along the shore of a lake, which includes a sea border.

Saints Row: Gat Out Of Hell (video Game 2015)

According to Vito, a gate is a coastal channel or strait that separates offshore islands from the mainland, such as the Frisian Islands, or it is an opening in a line of sea cliffs that allows access to the coast from inland. It is similar to, but not identical to, the intestine, which is a narrow canal or strait before joining an ocean or estuary.

The laser restricts its use to the deep, but relatively narrow inlets in the gulf that drain from the Curtis, typified by the gap between the Frisian islands of Geist and Norde.

A relatively large volume of water flowing through the gate too quickly can cause heavy erosion, resulting in a risk to the channel and neighboring islands, which are deeper than the rest of the surrounding seabed. When the water rises from the mud flats behind the islands as mist back to the sea, it again rushes through the narrow gate. But as these reservoirs flow into the ocean, they expand and slow down. As a result, on this seaward side of the gate, sand and mud particles accumulate from the water to form a tidal delta with shallow water between the islands. Sandbanks created in this way are often called plates in Germany (pronounced "plah-ter", see cachelotplate). The point where the water from the gate passes over these banks, often lying in an arc between the islands, is a sand bar (German: Barre). It is the lowest part of the gate for sailing, but the deepest point of the low line between the islands. A similar floodplain is formed on the landward side of the gate.

A navigation channel at sea is usually marked at gates by waterways and shipping authorities. The bar area is often the most dangerous place. Here the waves rise and especially when the curt flows against the wind, very dangerous ground swells can occur.

Passages between inner and outer coastal waters, such as at the mouth of lakes or along bode shores, are also known as gates.

The term "gate" applies primarily (not exclusively) to waterways along the North Sea and Baltic Sea coasts of Europe. A similar term of related but theoretical meaning, gut, applies primarily to coastal water channels along the Atlantic coast of North America.

What Does Gat Mean

The name comes from the Low German and Dutch word "get" meaning "gap". "Gate" is added to the proper names of some Dutch or Dutch-derived passages (eg Kattegat, Veresgate) which may or may not be proper gates.

In glossary names, "gut" (e.g. fisherman's gut) and "gut" (e.g. Digby's gut, Hill's gut, Kenso's gut) c.

In German, "gat" (as well as "seagut" and the diminutive "gatze") can refer to an arm of the sea that is not necessarily subject to strong ocean currents. For example, the precursor current ("prior stream"), a regressive delta, is a gate.

Seagut ("neus [pillauer] tief" [new deep]) is the German proper name for the Baltic (Pillau) strait connecting the Vistula Lagoon to the Baltic Sea.

The name Hellgate, a gate (or gut) on the East River in New York City, derives from the Old Dutch Hellgate (probably meaning "clear opening").

E. Lockhart Quote: “when We Say Shut Up, Gat, That Isn't What We Mean At All.”

Below is a list of gates, including named gates, which may or may not be the actual gates described above: A gate (Korean pronunciation: [kat̚] GAHT ) is a Korean traditional hat called m-hanbok (Korean traditional dress). during the Joseon period. It is made of horsehair with a bamboo frame and is partially transparent.

Most of the gates are cylindrical in shape with wide edges on a bamboo frame. Before the late 19th century, only the upper class could wear the gat, which indicated their social status and protected their top knot (Korean: 상투; RR: sangtu).

Artisans who make gates are called ganniljang (갓일장) from gannil (a compound of 갓일, gat and il (work)); "gat making") + jang (Korean: 장 ; Hanja: 匠 "artisan, craftsman, craftsman").

The origin of the gate dates back to ancient times. In general, the following hats are considered to be the first prototypes of what is known as git today: Ipheong Baekhwa Pimo (Korean: 정형백화피모; Hanja: 笠形白樺皮帽) Geumnyong 隡隈), the ancient Silla Tomb in Gyeongju, and the pan-shaped gate modeled and shaped by ordinary hats. is different and depicted on the walls of Gamsinchong, an ancient Goguryeo tomb. In modern times, until the end of the 20th century, the hat was generally worn by the elderly and rural people.

During the Joseon period, the Black Gate (Korean: 흑리; Hanja: 黑笠; RR: Heungnip) was restricted to those who passed the gwajeo or civil service examinations. Narrowly defined, the word gat refers to hengnip.

The white gate (Korean: 백리; Hanja: 白笠; RR: bagnip) is worn during national mourning. It is modeled like a black gate but from sambi (hemp), the traditional Korean hemp weed.

A red gate (Korean: 주립; Hanja: 朱笠; RR: Jurip) was worn.

What Does Gauze Do - Gauze is a thin and transparent fabric with a smooth texture. In technical terms, a "mesh" is a weaving structure in which weft threads are arranged in pairs and crossed before and after each thread to hold the weft in place.

This weave structure is used to stabilize the fabric, which is important when fine yarns that are spaced apart are used. However, this weave structure can be used with yarns of any weight and can be seen in some rustic fabrics made from hand-woven plant fiber yarns. Gauze is widely used for medical dressings.

What Does Gauze Do

Gauze was traditionally used in the Gaza region. It is said that the English word is derived from the name of the place Gaza

Despite the prohibition of trade with non-Christians by religious authorities in medieval Europe, a fine silk known as gazzatum was imported from Gaza in the early 13th century.

Although members of religious orders in Europe were forbidden to wear it, the cloth took its place and emerged as a staple in modern life.

According to the online etymological dictionary of the Frch government, the English form of the word comes from Frch, the ultimate origin of which is unclear but usually from the Arabic and Persian word qazz ("raw silk"), meaning to taken is considered. from the name of Gaza.

The same source says that the existence of an "old textile industry in Gaza is unclear", and it is not known how the word spread into European languages. 1250 and gazzatum in Budapest in 1279.

Gauze was originally made of silk and used for clothing. Now it is used for many different things, including gas sponges for medical purposes. Modern fabric is also made from synthetic fibers, especially when used in clothing.

Mesh can be woven or non woven. Wov tissue is gently sutured, usually of cotton fibers, which allows exudate and other fluids to be drained or drained. The mesh can be covered with a fine or coarse mesh; coarse tissue is useful for medical cleaning, while fine tissue is better for wound closure. Wov gas is less absorbent than non-wov gas and can leave a scar in a wound, especially if cut.

Non-woven fabric is made of fibers that are woven instead of woven fabric, which provides better absorbency and moisture absorption than woven fabric. Non-woven fabric is usually made from synthetic fibers such as rayon or polyester, or a fabric that may contain cotton. Non-Wov fabric is stronger, larger and softer than Wov fabric and produces less wear.

What Does Gauze Do

When used as a medical dressing, gauze is usually made of cotton. It is especially useful for dressing wounds where other tissues may be affected by burns or cuts. Many modern medical gauzes are covered with a perforated plastic film such as Telfa or Polyblad which prevents direct contact and further reduces wound adhesion. It can also be sprinkled with a thick, creamy mixture of zinc oxide and calamine to promote healing, as in Unna's boot. Gauze is also used in procedures involving accidental tooth loss; either gauze is used to apply pressure while the tooth is being repositioned and the tooth is moved, or the tooth is wrapped in gauze and placed in milk or saline to keep it alive while the tooth is being moved or removed. It is prepared for transfer.

The term wire mesh is used for woven metal plates, for example placed on a sandwich burner, or used in a safety light or spark plug. Gauze is a type of thin fabric with a very open texture. It has many uses, from the operating room to the theater, and different types are made to suit different needs. Many fabric stores carry the gas, and it is also available at drug stores and medical supply companies. Material designed for medical use is very useful in a first aid kit as it can be used to cover wounds, stop bleeding and fill wounds before bandages.

, which means 'raw silk'. In the first sense, gauze is a type of light, highly breathable fabric that can be used in clothing. When worn, thicker fabrics are usually worn underneath, for modesty, or mesh may be layered to hide the details of the body underneath. In performance, the material is often used to create a mesh screen onto which shadow can be projected, adding visual interest to the stage.

In medical terms, gauze is a highly absorbent material, classically made of cotton, used to cover wounds and stop bleeding. In addition to cotton, it can also be made of silk and some synthetics, and medical versions are often saturated with an antibacterial solution to reduce the risk of infection. Some medical gauzes are also treated with coagulants to help stop bleeding on wounds. It is often sold with surgical tape, which can be used to secure material bandages to the body.

A gag can be used to apply pressure to a wound or cover a deep wound. Gas masks are also used to aspirate blood and other fluids during surgical procedures, and it is often integrated into wound dressings to allow air to circulate around the site, promoting rapid healing. In addition to sheets and sanitary napkins, it is also possible to find gauze sponges for medical use. It can also be soaked in various substances and used to wrap burn victims, protecting their delicate skin and flesh from further injury.

The term is also used for metal with a very fine metallic texture. This type of mesh is often used as a spark plug around an open fire, as the mesh prevents sparks from flying into the fire and burning things around the fire. It can also be used to make window screens, keeping bugs and other critters out while allowing air to circulate.

Since she started contributing to the site a few years ago, Mary has embraced the exciting prospect of being a researcher and writer. Mary holds a liberal arts degree from Goddard College and spends her free time reading, cooking, and exploring the great outdoors.

What Does Fraternising Mean - In Margaret Atwood's 1985 work The Handmaid's Tale, she wrote, "To fraternize is to act like a brother." Fraternity, interestingly enough and according to lexicon.com, "a kind of wild heather behavior" at worst, means "an index of law or skull."

Atwood went on to write, “There is no equivalent word for behaving like a sister. Soroize, it must be...” So, I tried Googling how to use soroize in a sentence and zilch, zip, nada, night - Why is that?

Last week Porter Novelli celebrated, recognised, honored and remembered International Women's Day by engaging in a week-long series of eye-catching activities it's mind-opening to what women have been doing over the decades and around the world. The highlight of our week was Wednesday, 3/8, when we partnered with LMHQ (Lower Manhattan Headquarters) to host a "Women + Mentorship" event that brought together 100+ women and a few men. The audience engaged with a panel of speakers moderated by Porter Novelli's Soon Mee Kim, global director of diversity and inclusion, on why more women don't sponsor - not just other women , but men too. At the end of the panel discussion the audience broke into groups to engage in speed mentoring and networking.

Words With Friends Black And White Stock Photos & Images

As I introduced myself to the event attendees that evening and contributed to the discussions, I thought and wondered why professional women in 2017 were still not actively involved the counseling. I think about my own counseling experiences and what I think other women expect from me when they turn to me for guidance.

I have had three mentors throughout my career, not counting my father who has mentored and coached me throughout my life. They were all men. Not by design, it just worked that way. Mentoring was a learning experience. When I approached professional women and men with the same question, I found that they answered differently. Men suggested options or helped me find alternatives when women provided answers. Men, including my father, did not tell me how to do something, they did not give me an answer, but instead they helped me to find and understand my options. An example comes to mind when I was changing jobs. Three days after receiving an offer from another company, the offer I wanted so much came. Frozen budgets are unexpectedly unfrozen. The offer I received from a company I loved was fantastic. So, I called one of my advisors. He listened to me without giving any answer. I will never forget her words, "You agreed to dance with Henry, but, in the end, you have to do what's best for you." He never said keep your word or you can't break a promise or he never told me what to do; In slightly oblique terms it helped me see my options. I thought hard for 24 hours. Eventually I decided to continue dancing with Henry and did so for three years. It was a difficult time but when I finally retired I looked back on the day I made the decision to stay and thanked the counselor in my heart for helping me understand the options to make my own decision. Anyway, when I went back to share my decision with my mentor he didn't say I made the right decision; Instead, he complimented me on the reasoning behind the choice I made.

Most women do not support or seek mentors because women (and men) expect women to solve their problems. To tell us what to do next or how to do it. Female mentors, like their male mentors, care about their mentees; The difference is that women are more protective of their mentors and do not want their mentors to make a mistake and therefore take the best course of action or the right decision in their minds. Unfortunately, taking that decision away from the advisor does not help the growth of either party. It seems to me that a mentor helps their protégé grow by not telling their protégé what to do next or how to do it, but by help them understand their options and give them the tools to figure it out. It is in conversations about options that the mentor-mentee relationship becomes more valuable to both, as the exchange of ideas creates opportunities for growth.

So, let's go back to the quote from The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood. In my humble opinion, we need a call to action. It's about women learning grief. To change the dynamics of our experience in this world we must discover what it means to be sisters. This word is just a rallying call. If women are to progress, if our society is to progress, every woman must ensure that she belongs by knowing her options. Every woman and man understands that seeking a woman's guidance can be a rich intellectual experience without punishment.

In the end, I hope you express your thoughts; Challenge these thoughts or agree with them. How can we be sisters the next time we give advice, reveal options? Fraternization is not uncommon in the workplace. Employees can work together in small offices on specific projects. Spending extended time together and interacting daily with each other can lead to a natural progression in which friendships develop between colleagues. In fact, business leaders want employees to get ahead. Positive employee interactions are the foundation of a positive corporate culture and build employee morale. However, if relationships go beyond a basic friendship and some employees begin to connect with each other, relationships can turn very quickly. The dangers of fraternization in the workplace lead to specific non-fraternization policies that are issues that business leaders must address.

Brotherhood is an interaction between colleagues that extends beyond business relationships. Your employees probably spend as much time with each other as they do with their families, if not more. With time spent together every day, it is not unusual for colleagues to learn about common interests, hobbies and sports. As people realize they have common interests, friendships can develop and it is not unusual for employees to engage in mutual activities after hours.

What Does Fraternising Mean

In general, brotherhood as friends has a positive effect on business. This means that people get on and often, it can mean that communication in the office is improved. However, if relationships are after hours romantic, problems can arise.

An Original And Illustrated Physiological And Physiognomical Chart . S Rendered Quite Happy By Your Associations And Society, since You So Much Enjoy Fraternising With Many. 11. Being One Of The Most Companionable

A big risk for employers is when two people develop a romantic relationship in the office, but they are not on the same level. One can be the manager, and the other can be under the manager's control. This creates a power surge that can be dangerous to a business. There are a number of things to consider, from problems arising from office confidentiality to potential legal issues.

Take the relationship when things are going well. Two risks are worth noting. The first is the risk of two employees excluding other employees in negotiations or perhaps new sales opportunities. This leads to frustration and resentment from excluded employees who are not considered "favorites" by managers. Another risk is how two employees interact with each other during the workday. Other colleagues or clients may be uncomfortable with public displays of respect.

Move on from a good to really good relationship to a sudden, quick break up, full of screaming, yelling and crying behind closed office doors. Even a day where two workers throw daggers from their eyes can make everyone uncomfortable. Two employees who are upset with each other can have a negative impact on productivity. Phone messages may not go through and clients may not receive timely feedback. An angry employee can undermine another person through gossip and lies by spreading these lies to other colleagues. This negativity affects everyone in the office.

This situation between a manager and a subordinate can easily escalate into a legal case. Allegations of sexual harassment put pressure on the entire company and can cost them their jobs, their careers, and can lead to huge legal fees and customer relationship disasters for the company.

The Complicated Truth About The Famous 'christmas Truce' Of World War I

Fraternizing with a colleague who is considered an equal in the organizational structure does not raise the same power-dynamic problems as fraternizing with a superior. However, there are similar problems when they fraternize

Uncontested Military Divorce - Divorce can be very mentally and emotionally draining, and a military divorce is no different. However, a military divorce is similar to a regular divorce, but some details make it different.

Military divorces can take longer than traditional civilian divorces, especially if the military spouse is on active duty or deployed at the time of the divorce. Military divorces can take anywhere from a few months to 24 months, depending on several factors, including state law.

Uncontested Military Divorce

If you're going through a military divorce, you don't have to go through it alone. Allow a dedicated attorney to provide legal guidance throughout the process.

Military Divorce Faq: Gi Bill Transfer & Divorce

Military divorces differ from civilian divorces because each spouse has unique circumstances. Divorce can be difficult to navigate when one spouse is in the military, especially if one spouse is in the military.

Because of these potential complications, the law is designed to protect military personnel in situations involving marriage and divorce.

Although military divorce procedures may differ, ultimately the grounds for divorce are often the same. Military couples face the same problems as ordinary couples, which often lead to divorce.

Federal law has specific rules for military divorces, including the division of military pensions. State laws may affect other issues, such as custody and alimony. At the state level, specific laws depend on the state in which a couple is filing for divorce.

Are You In The Military And Going Through A Divorce?

Military service can complicate the divorce process due to certain rights under federal law.

Active duty military personnel are protected against the consequences of legal actions or omissions under the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA).

Usually, when spouses file divorce papers, they have time to respond to the court. If they fail to do so, the complaining spouse can go to court for an injunction.

Uncontested Military Divorce

However, if the respondent's spouse is serving in the military, he or she will not be able to respond within the specified time. Thus, the SCRA protects military personnel in the absence of a court order against them.

Common Military Divorce Issues

In addition, the action may be deferred if it is initiated while the service member is on active duty or within 90 days of discharge.

According to the law, military personnel are protected because they are doing their duty and protecting the country because it is not fair and they should be held accountable under the law. The law does not protect military personnel from lawsuits at all, but rather gives them more opportunities to resolve their legal issues when they are ready and able.

Military personnel in particular are often confused about where to file for divorce because they often move frequently.

You do not need to file for divorce in the state where you married your spouse. Therefore, there is flexibility in determining where to file for divorce.

Generally, you can file for divorce in the state where you and your spouse lived for at least six months or in the state where you filed your taxes. Residency requirements vary from state to state, so it's important to know what your state's requirements are before you apply.

The exact process and timing of a military divorce depends on a number of factors, including state divorce laws and regulations and whether or not the respondent spouse is on active duty.

First, you must determine whether you (or your spouse) meet the residency requirements of the state in which you are seeking a divorce. If you do, you can file for divorce in that state's court.

Uncontested Military Divorce

Depending on the state, you may need to include your grounds for divorce in your petition. Grounds are legal grounds for divorce, such as irreconcilable differences. Some states allow simple divorce. Determine what grounds your country requires and accepts.

Texas Out Of State, International Divorce & Military Divorce

Military personnel may apply for a deferment of the procedure under SCRA. If they meet all the requirements, they are granted a 90-day stay, with additional time granted if they apply and are approved.

After the respondent spouse agrees to participate in the divorce proceedings, he or she may file an answer with the court. After their answer, the divorce can proceed like any other.

During a divorce, spouses must resolve important issues before the marriage is officially terminated. The discovery phase of a divorce allows both parties to obtain important information and evidence to support their case.

Depending on state law, mediation may be necessary if spouses cannot agree on major issues. Mediation is a process that allows couples to make joint decisions about property division, alimony, and child custody.

How To Get A Military Divorce In California

If spouses are unable to resolve their disputes through mediation or outside of mediation, they may need to file a lawsuit. During the trial, the judge listens to both sides and witnesses, examines evidence and documents before making a decision.

During a military divorce, spouses must deal with some of the same issues that ordinary couples face. However, if one of the spouses is serving in the military, additional information should be considered.

Division of property, assets and benefits is a hot topic in divorce. Like civilian pensions, military pensions and pensions can be split.

Uncontested Military Divorce

Military spouses are eligible under the Uniformed Services Spouse Protection Act (USFSPA). Under this Act and state laws, state courts may treat pension benefits as sole or community property. There is no exact formula for dividing wages, as it is often determined by state law.

After Divorce Papers Are Served

Military pension payments for former spouses are determined through the Defense Finance and Accounting Office (DFAS) if they have been married for at least 10 years, provided they coincide with 10 years of military service. This is called the 10/10 rule.

In addition to receiving retirement benefits, former spouses of military personnel may receive additional benefits, including medical and commissary benefits, in the following cases.

Determining military pensions and benefits can be difficult. An experienced military divorce attorney can help you collect what you owe.

Like any civilian family, military spouses are entitled to alimony. Alimony is financial support that one spouse provides to the other. Although there is no guarantee of alimony, a spouse can ask the court for alimony. Spousal support can be awarded for a short period of time or in perpetuity if the judge deems it fair and necessary. Spousal support is governed by state law.

What Happens When You Divorce In The Military?

If a spouse has children, one of the parents is entitled to child support. Like spousal support, child support is a financial payment that one parent pays to the other for the care and support of the child.

While the law provides some protections for military personnel, it does not interfere with military servicemen paying alimony or child support to ex-spouses.

Child custody is one of the most important parts of a military divorce, especially when one spouse is on active duty.

Uncontested Military Divorce

If the spouses communicate well and agree, they can create their own custody arrangements, but if that's not possible, a judge can get involved and the court can make a custody plan that works best for the child.

Child custody can be called sole or joint. One of the parents can get joint custody even if he is on official duty or away. In such situations, the other parent will take care of the child in the absence of the guardian.

Any divorce takes time. Certain factors influence the finality of a divorce, including:

The same is true for military divorces, military divorces can take some time to resolve, especially if a spouse requests a deferral under the SCRA. This leads to a longer divorce process.

Military divorce takes an average of 2 to 24 months, depending on the details of each case.

Unclaimed Military Medals - Jefferson City, Mo. (KFVS) - Missouri State Treasurer Scott Fitzpatrick wants Missourians to search the state's unclaimed property database for unclaimed military medals and insignia.

Treasurer Fitzpatrick said there are currently more than 200 military medals and insignia held by the state Division of Unclaimed Property.

"My office will never sell or destroy these medals — but we want to return them," Fitzpatrick said. "Our effort to raise awareness about these medals this month reflects our commitment to return them to the heroes who earned them. Several museums and veterans homes will display banners in reception centers and lobbies to encourage visitors to search the database of unclaimed properties.

A complete list of medals, names and last known addresses of vault owners can be found here.

According to the Missouri Department of Treasury, every year financial institutions, businesses, government agencies and other organizations transfer millions of dollars in cash and vault contents to the state.

These entities are required to transfer unclaimed property to the Ministry of Finance after there has been no contact or documented transaction with the owner for five years.

The contents of safes often contain heirlooms and family memories. Some of the items found are military medals and insignia.

Woman whose car was dragged 5 miles under half-drinking, ran a red light, according to crash report This week marks two major civil war anniversaries: America's deadliest war began on April 12, 1861, when southerners who seceded from the Union shot at Fort Sumter of government in Charleston Harbor, South Carolina, and came to an unofficial end on April 9, 1865, when Confederate General Robert E. Lee surrendered to future President Ulysses S. Grant at Appomattox, Wash. Since those days, the story of the war continues to unfold.

The unprecedented violence of the Civil War set new precedents for recognition of military service. The Medal of Honor, the first medal that enlisted military service members could be nominated to receive, began to be awarded after 1862. The Civil War Campaign Medal was created in the early 1900s, around the 40th anniversary of the end of the war. Even Memorial Day was established with the Civil War in mind.

In 1866, the West Virginia Legislature passed a resolution authorizing the awarding of medals to officers and soldiers who were honorably discharged, killed in action, or died from causes related to battle wounds. The medals were "a shining proof of the high regard on the part of the state of your devotion, patriotism and services," as West Virginia's first governor, Arthur Borman, wrote in a letter to a veteran in 1867. And the war was particularly important. to the people of West Virginia, because it did not become a state until 1863, after a two-year effort launched by Virginians who wanted to remain in the Union.

The Baden Military Karl Friedrich Merit Medal Awarded To Wehrmann Hübert In 1849

The state authorized the minting of 26,000 medals in honor of the men who fought in their regiments. But of that number, there are 3,392 that have yet to be claimed.

Now, with the help of new technology, the state is making an effort to ensure that those medals go to the descendants of those who served. People who believe they have ancestors who served in West Virginia can search the list of names of medal recipients on the website for the state archives and apply to prove they are related.

West Virginia was not the only state in the Union to approve these medals, but it was among the first and its medal distribution process is unique. The same year that West Virginia approved its medals, Ohio commissioned medals from Tiffany & Co. For the 40th anniversary of the Civil War, the New Jersey Legislature signed three medals. And like West Virginia, Massachusetts — which authorized medals in 1906 — has a collection of more than 800 unclaimed Minutemen medals, but has no intention of distributing them. (Brigadier General Leonid Kondratyuk, director of historical services for the Massachusetts National Guard, cites a lack of resources and says he has seen few cases of descendants appearing on the job in his last 20 years.) Representatives of the Ohio, New York Department of Historical Military Records of York and New York Jersey said they had no collection of unclaimed medals.

"I've never seen in any other state [besides West Virginia] a notice that says, 'We still have medals,'" says Robert J. Waltz, a historian of Union Civil War veterans. "Most of them were issued then the veterans lived."

Tennessee Unclaimed Property Returns Wwii Military Medals To Family

According to his count, there were about 409,000 union veterans alive in the 1890s, just under 250,000 around 1900 and about 34,000 in the 1920s.

The Grand Army of the Republic (GAR), which was the leading organization of Union veterans, issued the medals. But the more veterans died, the greater the chance that the knowledge of these medals was forgotten in the families. In the case of West Virginia's medals, there was a surge in interest in 1963, around the 100th anniversary of the state's founding—but generally, claims came in, according to Randolph Marcum, who runs the medal program at the West Virginia State Archives and is a veteran himself.

Jerry Hawley, 49, discovered his great-grandfather Andrew J. Hawley's name on a list of West Virginia medal recipients through MyHeritage.com in 2017. (The spelling of her last name has changed over the years. ) A genealogy service and DNA testing helped Hawley, who lives in Thornville, Ohio, polish his family tree and locate the US census documents he needed to prove the medal belonged to his family. Haley himself discovered that his great-great-grandfather had fought against one of his other great-great-grandsons, Anderson C J. Bradley, who sided with the Virginia Confederacy—a phenomenon not so surprising given the history of the separation of the two states .

Filing a claim can be a long process. Birth, death and marriage records on the West Virginia State Archives website are searchable, but only up to a point. When West Virginia was part of Virginia, counties weren't required to keep records of births and deaths until 1853, so research is difficult when it comes to finding people born before the split—whatever the case was for the men who served in the Civil War. Additionally, US census records prior to 1850 listed only the head of the household by name, and used markers to count other family members. This means that people making a claim may have to dig for other types of verification, such as probate records, land titles, notices of marriages in newspapers or obituaries detailing the deceased's surviving family members. Many medal recipients also dispersed and went to the West after the war, making them difficult to trace.

This Veterans Day, Tennessee Treasury Wants To Return Unclaimed Military Medals To Owners

As for Holly, he filed his lawsuit last spring. In January 2019, the medal for recognizing his father's honorable discharge came by post. The process was worth it, Holley says, to get something that honors his great-grandfather's hard work.

"He never opened it, never put on his uniform," he says. "He earned it. He just didn't come back to get it."

One day, he plans to bury the medal with his great-grandfather in his grave in Green Bottom, W.Va., on the West Virginia-Ohio border.

After all, he doesn't need the medal in his hands to convey the immeasurable pride this tangible medal represents to his family—a family that also includes veterans of the wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, Vietnam, and both world wars. . "My son is in the army. He wears the uniform, takes an oath," he says proudly, "and makes the same sacrifice." JEFFERSON CITY, Mo () - Missouri State Treasurer Scott Fitzpatrick is asking for help reuniting veterans and their families with military personnel who have not been claimed for medals.

Missouri Treasurer Asks For Help Returning Unclaimed Military Medals

The Missouri Department of the Treasury currently has 251 military medals and insignia for security. Five Purple Hearts, four Bronze Stars and more than 100 other service medals have gone unclaimed as state leaders mark Veterans Day.

"As we honor and remember America's military veterans, I want to remind Missourians of the more than 200 military medals and insignia currently held by the Unclaimed Property Division," Fitzpatrick said in a news release. "Treasury's policy is to never sell or dispose of these medals - and it is a top priority to return them to their rightful owners. I encourage Missourians to search the list and see if you recognize a name . Together, we can return these medals to the heroes who deserved them. As always, we thank America's military veterans for their service to this great country."

Every year, financial institutions, companies, government agencies and other organizations move millions of dollars in cash, securities and the contents of safes.

Undercut Military - Short hair is a rite of passage upon joining the military and functions as part of the uniform. These short styles serve several purposes, including showing health and strength, instilling the confidence of the civilian population, and protection (no one can touch short hair in close combat). Of course, short hair is easy to wear and maintain for an active lifestyle and the challenging environment of military life.

The classic boot camp segment is the buzz segment. It doesn't get any easier than a short clipper cut. We can add dimming on the pages. A high and tight haircut, also known as a regular haircut, is longer on top with shaved or faded sides. Works on straight hair, curly hair and black hair.

Flat tops and bottoms are also classic military haircuts. Flat tops can be very short or a certain length. You can wear underwear with a high and tight league, Rickon or Ivy League.

Head shaving is part of the start of boot camp and is said to dispel the individuality of recruits and promote a team mentality. It also means that you don't have to focus on anything else besides training.

This cut is sometimes called the Mighty Fine, number zero on the floor, and the number one haircut in the military.

Get This Pomade You may be aware that the military (or the military, whatever you want to call it) was the source of many of the fashion and style choices we still make today. There's the obvious khaki green and the color variations that come with it, from specialty apparel like the jacket to patterned styles like camouflage. The military is also credited with many haircuts that remain popular decades after they were first seen in the barracks and trenches.

These traditionally incredibly short haircuts - such as the buzz cut, the 'Mighty Fine', the bachelor cut, the high and tight or the 'zero number' - can introduce a whole new look, and while many of them may be a bit bold for what you're used to, especially , if you're not prone to short hair, your next visit to the hairdresser could be the best decision you make.

We've probably all seen pictures of military recruits shaving their hair down to the skin, but have you ever known why? The practice of shaving hair as short as possible without using a razor is often associated with the United States and is said to have both physical and psychological causes.

It is claimed that the purpose of shaving the head was to prevent recruits from contracting diseases (such as lice) and also meant that enemy soldiers could not grab and hold the hair while taking their own lives.

It was also said that this would make the recruits look the same to give more of a team mentality and remove the individual personalities of the soldiers. Perhaps ironically, today, military haircuts are used to promote a sense of individuality.

The military haircut that started it all. Also known as an induction cut, the buzz cut, as mentioned earlier, is the shortest haircut a person can get without using a razor to remove the last stubble. Often given to new recruits within hours of joining the military (literally, upon enlistment), the buzz cut (which technically means cutting your hair to the same length all over your body with a scissor cut) is the perfect choice for men who want a low cut. Maintenance style.

The crew cut was definitely inspired by the military and was even seen on the heads of soldiers during World War II - back then G.I. haircut. If you already wear short hair, then the bachelor cut is a perfect choice that you should try. Under the term 'buzz cut', by definition, the buzz cut sees you with dyed hair on top of your head, but the length runs from the front at the fringe to the back crown.

After that, the slightly longer hair in the front can be styled, for example, into a shade or a short pompadour. Best suited for men with thick hair, the crew cut is a safe choice for men everywhere.

The side and back of the head can be shaped as desired. The most foolproof option is to leave the hair one length throughout (but shorter than the hair on top), although you can add a fade, a high fade side to the mix, for an updated and cheaper look. .

There is a lot of crossover between the ivy league and the crew cut - some argue that the crew cut is actually called the Ivy League in the US - although there is less of a preference for short sides and back compared to what you see on the crew. A simple military haircut, the name ivy league was coined because it was popular among men who attended ivy league universities such as Yale, Harvard, and Columbia, making it an incredibly early hairstyle.

Like the crew cut, the ivy league has a difference between the top and side hair, which can then be styled further. A great option for men with rectangular and square faces is the Ivy League

An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), commonly known as a drone, is an aircraft without a human pilot, crew or passengers on board. Drones are part of an unmanned aircraft system (UAS), which involves the addition of a ground control and communication system with the UAV.

Drones can be remotely controlled by a human operator, such as a remotely piloted aircraft (RPA), or with varying degrees of autonomy, such as autopilot assistance, to fully autonomous aircraft without human intervention.

For humans and by the twenty-first they had become the basis of most military personnel. As surveillance technologies have improved and costs have decreased, their use has expanded into many non-military applications.

Current And Future Applications Of Unmanned Aircraft Systems In Precision Agriculture

The term drone dates back to the early days of aviation and refers to long-range target aircraft used for practical gunfire on battleships, such as the Fairey Que of the 1920s and the de Havilland Que Bee of the 1930s. Later examples include the Airspeed Que Wasp and the Miles Que Martinet, before being eventually replaced by the GAF Jindivik.

The term remains in common usage. In addition to software, autonomous drones also use a number of advanced technologies that allow them to perform their missions without human intervention, such as cloud computing, computer vision, artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, and temperature sensors.

A recreational aerial photography drone (as opposed to a UAV) is an aircraft with first-person video, autonomous capabilities, or both.

An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is defined as “a powered aerial vehicle that does not carry a human operator, uses aerodynamic forces to provide lift for the vehicle, can fly autonomously or can be remotely piloted, deployable or retractable. or non-lethal payload'.

Unmanned Aircraft Flight Tests Begin At Nasa Armstrong

However, warhead missiles are not considered IEDs because the vehicle itself is the munition. Also, the relationship of UAVs to remotely piloted model aircraft is unclear.

Drones may or may not include remote controlled model aircraft. Some jurisdictions base their definitions on size or weight; however, the US FAA defines any unmanned aerial vehicle, regardless of size, as a UAV.

The term Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) was adopted by the United States Department of Defense (DoD) and the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as part of the Unmanned Aircraft System Plan 2005-2030.

The term has been adopted by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the UK Civil Aviation Authority and is also used in the European Union Single European Sky (SES) Air Traffic Management (ATM) Study (SESAR Joint Undertaking) 2020.

This term emphasizes the importance of elements other than planes. This includes items such as ground control stations, data links and other support equipment. A similar term is an unmanned aircraft system (UAV), remotely piloted aerial vehicle (RPAV), remotely piloted aircraft system (RPAS).

Under new regulations effective June 1, 2019, the term RPAS (Remotely Piloted Aircraft System) has been adopted by the Canadian government to mean "a configurable set of elements comprising a remotely piloted aircraft, its control station and command and control". transitions and any other system elements required during flight operations'.

Like any other aircraft, UAVs can be classified by design configuration, such as weight or type of breed, maximum flight altitude, degree of operational autonomy, operational role, etc. According to the US Department of Defense, UAVs are divided into five categories below. :

Classified by size, UAVs are typically divided into four categories, with at least one of the dimensions (stick or wingspan) meeting the following relevant constraints:

Drones can also be classified according to the degree of autonomy in flight operations. ICAO classifies unmanned aircraft as either remotely piloted or fully autonomous aircraft.

Some UAVs offer moderate autonomy. For example, a car can be remotely controlled in most contexts, but has an autonomous return to base. Some aircraft types can optionally fly unmanned or as UAVs, including unmanned or manned aircraft converted to optionally piloted UAVs (OPVs).

Depending on altitude, the following UAV classifications have been used in industry houses such as the ParcAberporth Unmanned Systems forum:

Spanish engineer Leonardo Torres y Quevedo introduced a radio control system called "Telekino" at the Paris Academy of Sciences in 1903 with the intention of testing his airship according to its design without risking human life.

Significant drone development began in the 1900s and was initially focused on providing practice targets for training military personnel. The first attempt at a powered UAV was A. M. Low's "Aerial Target" in 1916.

Low confirmed that Geoffrey de Havilland's monoplane was the aircraft he flew under control using his radio system on 21 March 1917.

Following this successful demonstration in the spring of 1917, Low was transferred to develop fast motorized DCs with the Royal Navy in 1918 to attack shipping and harbor installations, and also assisted Wing Commander Broke in preparations for the Zeebrugge Raid. Further British unmanned development led to a fleet of over 400 de Havilland 82 Que Bee aerial targets launched in 1935.

This development also inspired the construction of the Kettering Bug by Charles Kettering of Dayton, Ohio, and the Hewitt-Sperry Automatic Airplane—originally intended as an unmanned aircraft that would carry an explosive charge to a predetermined target. Development continued during World War I, when the Dayton-Wright Aircraft Company designed an unmanned aerial torpedo that would detonate at a predetermined time.

He formed the Dny Radioplane Company in 1940, and further models appeared during World War II - used both for anti-aircraft gunner training and for attack missions. Nazi Germany produced and used a number of UAVs during the war, such as the Argus As 292 and the V-1 jet-powered flying bomb.

After World War II, development continued on vehicles such as the US JB-4 (using TV/radio command guidance), the Australian GAF Jindivik and the Teledyne Ryan Firebee I in 1951, while companies such as Beechcraft developed their Model 1001 for the US. Navy. they proposed. 1955.

What Does Funk Means - Funk is rock music that originated in African American communities in the mid-1960s when musicians created a new type of rhythm and dance music through the fusion of rock music that was popular among African Americans in the mid-20th century. twenty It de-emphasizes melody and chords and focuses on a strong rhythmic flow of a bass line played by an electric bass player and a drum part played by a percussionist, often at a slower tempo than other popular music. Funk usually has a complex melodic flow and rhythmic instruments playing tight sticks that create a "hypnotic" and "dancing" feeling.

Funk uses the same colorful chords found in bebop jazz, such as minor chords with added sevenths and elevenths, or altered major sevenths of ninths and thirteenths.

The word funk originally referred (and still does) to a strong smell. Originally derived from Latin "fumigare" (meaning "to smoke") via Old Frch "fungiere" and, in this sse, was first written in Glish in 1620. In 1784 "funky" meaning "mould" was written previously. , which, in turn, led to the sse of "earth" which was revived around 1900 in early jazz slang for something "deep or powerful".

Although in white culture, the word "funk" can have a negative meaning of smell or be in a negative state ("in funk"), in African societies, the word "funk", while it was still associated with body odor. he was sure that hard work, honest hard work of the musician led to sweating, and from his "physical exercises" came a "good" and "high quality" performance.

How James Brown Invented Funk

In the first jam sessions, the musicians encouraged each other to "get down" by telling each other: "Now put the stink!". At least in 1907, jazz songs carried names like Funky. The first example is an unrecorded number by Buddy Bold, remembered as "Funky Butt" or "Buddy Bold's Blues" with improvised lyrics that, according to Donald M. Marquis, were either "comic and light" or "dirty and dirty". but, in one way or another, they refer to the sweaty atmosphere of the dance floor where the Bold band played.

Until the 1950s and early 1960s, when "funk" and "funky" were increasingly used in the context of jazz music, the terms were still considered poor and inappropriate for use in respectable company. According to one source, New Orleans drummer Earl Palmer "was the first to use the term 'funky' to explain to other musicians that their music should be more danceable."

The style then changed to a strong, emphatic rhythm, implying a more physical quality. This early music set the precedent for later musicians.

What Does Funk Means

The meaning of "funk" continues to attract the gre of black music, emotions and knowledge. Rect scholarship in black studies has taken the term "funk" in its many iterations to consider a variety of black movements and cultures. Especially, L.H. Stallings's Funk the Erotic: Transaesthetics and Black Sexual Cultures explores these multiple meanings of "funk" as a way to illuminate sexuality, culture, and the West in the many sites of "funk": "street parties, drama/theatre ". , strip clubs, pornography and self-published fiction."

Funk Art Movement, From Ceramics To Found Objects

The rhythm section of a funk band—electric bass, drums, electric guitar, and keyboards—is the core of the funk sound. Pictured here is Mita.

The sound of funk however depends on the "space between the notes" when the notes are played; therefore, rest between points is important.

Although there are rhythmic similarities between funk and disco, funk has "an intermediate dance rhythm that is slower, more catchy and more homogenous than disco", and funk rhythm section musicians add "subtextures", complexity and " personality" on the main beat. than a beat. synth-based disco.

Before funk, most pop music was based on the octave sequence, because the fast tempos made smaller beats impossible.

Funk Music Taught Me How To Be An Environmentalist

Funk's innovation was that by using slower tempos (no doubt influenced by the blues revival in the early 60s), funk "created room for more rhythmic division, so a 4/4 bar could replace 16 notes".

In particular, the playing of guitars and drums in the "motor" rhythms of the sixth grade created opportunities for other instruments to play in a "more balanced, broken style," which enabled the movements of the "freed" bass. Together, the "closed parts" create a "hypnotic" and "playful" feeling.

Most funk is based on the rhythmic structure of the two-cell transition, which originated in the music cultures of Sub-Saharan Africa. New Orleans adopted a double-edged format with elements of Afro-Cuban conga in the late 1940s, making it its own.

What Does Funk Means

New Orleans funk, as it was called, gained international acclaim in large part because James Brown's rhythm section used it to great effect.

Funk uses many of the same colorful chords found in jazz bebop, such as minor chords with added sevenths and elevenths, or major seventh chords with ninths. Some examples of chords used in funk are eleventh minor chords (eg F minor 11th); a dominant seventh with a strong ninth added by a suspect fourth (eg, C7 (#9) sus 4); major ninth chords (for example, F9); and minor sixth chords (eg C minor 6).

Six chords are used in funk (eg F 6/9); is the major added sixth and ninth.

Get Down: Funk, Movement, And The End Of The Great Migrations

In funk, minor seventh chords are more common than minor triads because minor triads were considered very minor.

Some of funk's best-known and most skilled soloists have a jazz background. Trombonist Fred Wesley and saxophonist Pee Wee Ellis and Maceo Parker are among the most prominent musicians in funk music, having worked with James Brown, George Clinton and Prince.

Unlike bebop jazz, with its complex and rapid chord changes, funk has essentially abandoned chord changes, creating static chord vamps (often alternating a minor seventh chord with a related seventh chord, such as A minor to D7 ) and melodo-harmonica. movement is a complex sense of rhythm. Although some funk songs are basically vamps with a chord, percussionists can embellish this chord by moving it up a semitone or a tone to create passing chromatic chords. For example, "Play that happy music" (from Wild Cherry) uses the E nine chord, but also uses F#9 and F9.

What Does Funk Means

The chords used in funk songs usually involve the Dorian or Mixolydian mode, as opposed to the major or minor keys of more popular music. The Cont Melodic was produced by combining these modes with the blues scale. In the 1970s, jazz music learned from funk to create a new type of jazz-funk music, which can be heard in the records of Miles Davis (Live-Evil, On the Corner) and Herbie Hancock (Head Hunters).

Funky Clothing Items That Can Reinvent Your Look

Funk continues the improvisational tradition of African music, since in the funk band, the group "felt" the change, "played" and "beat", ev in the studio recording stage, which can only depend on the frame of each song.

Funk used "ensemble improvisation", where musicians in rehearsal would have what was a metaphorical "conversation", a method that extended to stage performances.

Funk creates a strong current using strong guitar riffs and low bass played on an electric bass. Like Motown records, funk songs use the bass as the main part of the songs. Indeed, funk has been called a style in which the bassline is more important in songs,

The first funk bass lines used syncopation (usually balanced eighth notes), but with the addition of a more "driving feel" than New Orleans funk, and they used blues scale notes and major thirds above the root.

Later funk bass lines use sixth-note syncopation, bluesy scales, and repetitive patterns, often in jumps of octaves or more.

Funk basslines emphasize repetitive patterns, closed loops, continuous playing, and clapping and pounding. Clapping and strumming uses a combination of low notes struck with the thumb (also called "rhythms") and high notes "struck" (or tapped) with the finger, allowing the bass to play a rhythmic role like a drum.
